Mountain Star Products was founded in Afton, Wyoming, in 1971 by Earl and LuAnn Peavler as an excavation business serving the small area of Star Valley. In 1974, the company evolved into providing pipe and irrigation plumbing to local farmers and contractors, saving them more than four hours round trip to find supplies. The name changed from Peavler Enterprises to Peavler’s Mountain Star, Inc. in 2006, when Earl and his wife would take hikes up to the town’s symbol, a star, perched way up on a steep hill in their hometown. Around that time, the company acquired the gravel pit just north of the store to provide sand and gravel for our customers' projects. 

In December of 2022, the Lind Family purchased Peavler’s Mountain Star to continue its long tradition of convenience and value for plumbing supplies, gravel, and irrigation services throughout Star Valley. To honor the Peavler’s legacy, the Linds decided to keep the name Mountain Star — now as Mountain Star Products. The company has always kept family, employees, and customers in the forefront in its day-to-day business, and we carry on with these values by always searching for the best quality, price, and convenience of having products on hand locally. 

We intend to keep improving by taking care of our employees and customers — we offer reliable, personable customer service from a hardworking team that always aims to please. We strive to meet our customers’ specific needs by creating a trusting relationship face to face, with a helping hand and a smile.

The Linds come with a background of running small family businesses such as mining, marine construction, equipment maintenance, and ranching — the list goes on. We are here to serve  Star Valley as best as we can.
